Welcome! The purpose of this website is to share information about the activities of Alabama's State Improvement Grant.

The Alabama Department of Education's Special Education Services was again awarded a State Improvement Grant (SIG) by the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services Section, U.S. Department of Education. The purpose of this 3-year grant, which began September 1, 2004, is to address the needs of students with disabilities in Alabama through improved classroom performance and achievement and increased access to the general curriculum for students with disabilities.
